Varden's of Paris offers true Southern Cuisine in Middle of Horse County

It wasn’t too long ago that my good friend Rebecca and I decided to get out of Lexington and make the short 20 minute drive to Paris, Kentucky. We had a blast catching up and taking in the scenery of Kentucky’s most historic (and expensive) road in the entire state, historic Paris Pike.

On the way Rebecca told me all about Varden’s and how wonderful the food, the staff and owners and the whole experience was on her last visit. I had never been before, but she had on several occasion and kept coming back for a variety of factors.  Varden’s is located in downtown Paris on Main Street in a historic building that once housed the town pharmacy. Today, it is a chic bistro serving up the best in southern eclectic cuisine and offers a full bar and live entertainment on the patio during the warmer months. The food is great and they offer a variety of menu items and are constantly rotating great dishes on and off the menu. Atmosphere wise it is top notch.  We were there on a Tuesday and it was packed! The interior has a great feel and is very chic-classical. Many locals frequent the place on a daily bases. I also get the feeling that a lot of people in the local horse industry stop by often.

Check out the video clips from our trip to Varden’s:

Our trip was exceptional and this place definitely compares to more expensive, big city restaurants, but actually exceeds many of them. Plus, the do it all for a lot less than other places. Check them out at online here! Happy dining!
