The Kroger on Euclid Offers Shopping in the Heart of Lexington KY

Have you been to the new Kroger on Euclid yet? As you may have heard, this is not your typical grocery store. The old building was demolished last year to make way for a bigger structure with rooftop parking. The 65,000-square-foot location has the unusual feature of prep areas and inventory storage located in the basement, allowing for the maximum use of space on the main floor. Windows are an added benefit to this design, and something not seen in many groceries. The new store also has café seating for 70, a sushi bar, and food kiosks from two local restaurants, Athenian Grill and La Petite Crêperie. A large “beer cave” allows shoppers to walk through a long cooler with entrances at both ends.

The new Kroger is about a mile southeast of downtown near the University of Kentucky campus. It is part of the bustling retail and restaurant district in Chevy Chase that radiates from the intersection of Euclid and High streets.

The new market is one more reason to consider homes for sale in the surrounding neighborhoods. Residents can not only walk to the grocery, but can also shop local stores including an independent book store, old-time hardware store, a UPS shipping outlet, a coffee shop, and more.

Neighborhoods near the Kroger on Euclid include Chevy Chase, Hollywood, Woodland Park, Columbia Heights, Aylesford, Ashland Park, and UK Campus. Click the links to see homes for sale.
