Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington Ky is Ahead of the Curve

Of the half a dozen major hospitals in town, several are well known regionally – and even nationally – for their many firsts and achievements. In the latest news, Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington Ky is the first in the state to start using CT technology. Especially helpful in delicate surgeries such as head and neck, this innovation uses cameras to allow surgeons to see inside the human body in real time as they navigate their way inside it. St. Joseph plans to use it for those operations as well as for ear nose and throat, orthopedic, trauma, and general procedures. There are only nine other hospitals in the country using CT imagery – just one more reason to feel proud that we have it here!

St. Joseph Hospital is a 468 bed facility about two miles south of downtown, just off South Broadway. This is a great area to consider if you are looking for your next home. The University of Kentucky along with the Arboretum (a 100-acre botanical garden with walking trails that is open to the public) are close by. The rest of town is easily accessed via the major arteries of Nicholasville Road, South Broadway/Harrodsburg Road, and Versailles Road.
