Meet Adam and Amy, wonderful clients of mine. I recently sold their Lexington KY townhome and helped them purchase a larger home here in the Hamburg area of Lexington. When we first met to list their home, I knew we were faced with a challenging situation because the builder was still selling similar units to their townhome. Often times, buyers prefer new homes over previously owned homes. I knew that we would have to overcome all of the other townhomes and really show the potential buyer that sometimes new isn't always better.

Adam and Amy had lived in their townhome for several years and during that time, they totally transformed their home making updates and changes that had it looking better than it did when it was new. So we were able to ask more for the property.  Even though it was leaps and bounds nicer, the appraisal was a concern because appraisers base their information off of the number of bedrooms, baths and total square footage.
