Moving to Versailles Kentucky?

Versailles, Ky is a popular choice for home buyers looking for rural small town life- -without the isolation. Downtown Lexington is just 12 miles to the east, but feels a world away from the quiet life of this quaint town. Versailles (pronounced “Ver-sales”) is best known for its castle that attracts many sightseers. The castle hosts weddings and events, and has a hotel and restaurant open to the public. Versailles was founded in the late 1700s and features many historic homes and horse farms. Well-known thoroughbred horse farms include WinStar, Three Chimneys, Airdrie, and Lane’s End farm. Keeneland Racetrack and the Blue Grass Airport are within a 15-minute drive while Frankfort, the state capital, is only about 20 minutes away.

With a population of about 8,000, Versailles is the largest town in Woodford County. It is also home to the Woodford Reserve bourbon distillery. 135,000 people visited Woodford Reserve last year and that number is expected to grow significantly in the next decade. Brown Forman, which owns Woodford Reserve, recently announced a $1.5 million dollar expansion that will include a new tasting room, updated gift shop, and additional restrooms. Work is scheduled to begin this month.

If you are moving to Versailles Kentucky, I can help you find your new home. Homes for sale in Versailles range from $55,000 to $12 million.  Incidentally, the $12 million listing is for a horse farm on Pisgah Pike. When you visit the area, be sure to take a drive down that road, one of the most beautiful in Central Kentucky.

Whether you want to buy a downtown condo, a custom walkout ranch on a golf course, or a horse farm in the country, I can help find the perfect home for you- as well as help you sell your home.  In addition to Lexington and Versailles Real Estate, I specialize in the nearby towns of Paris, Midway, and Georgetown.
