Lexington's Light The Night Walk Touches Many Lives
This past Saturday evening, I participated in the Light the Night walk in downtown Lexington in front of the court houses. The Light the Night walk is an annual fundraising walk and the nation's night to pay tribute and give hope to those battling blood cancers. Walks all around our nation occurred on Saturday and the Lexington community and hundreds of other Central Kentucky residents came out to support their friends, family members and as a way to remember those loved ones lost. A good friend of mine, Mellissa Buckley, Mortgage Lender from Peoples Exchange Bank here in Lexington is on the board for Light the Night and I was honored to be able to support her on Saturday. She and the other members on the board did a great job organizing and planning the event.
Many famous Kentuckians were in attendance and many of them spoke on how this event helps make a difference in many lives. It was a very memorable night that touched many that evening. Next year, plan to join us. To learn more or to discover ways to get involved, visit http://www.lightthenight.org/ky/.
