Is your Water Heater Dangerous? Over 600,000 Water Heaters Recalled. Check yours today!

Last night I heard that A.O. Smith, the largest manufacture of water heaters in the United States had recalled over 600,000 water heaters to date. This November 2018  recall impacts gas units installed from 2011 to 2016. Whirlpool, Kenmore, Reliance, State and U.S. Craftsmaster units installed during the same time frame are also on the recall list. You can read more about the recall below and to see if yours is on the list. I checked a family member's home today and obtained the serial number. You will also need to see if the gas water heater is sitting in a metal pan and what type of flooring material the unit is sitting on. If yours is on the recall list, they ask you shut if off ASAP.
