I’m proud to say that Lexington is first in line for a lot of new and developing restaurant chains. For example, we have Tom + Chee, Coba Cucina, Wild Eggs, and City Barbeque. Once again, Lexington was chosen as the site for the inaugural store of their expansion into Kentucky.

Petro’s Chili & Chips is a quick-service restaurant that was founded in Knoxville at the 1982 Worlds Fair. There are now over 20 locations open or in the planning stages in Tennessee and Georgia. And there are already plans for a second Lexington location.

Petro’s is known for its gourmet chili served with corn chips, cheese, tomatoes, green onions, sour cream, black olives and jalapenos. Lexingtonians will be pleased to know they can replace the corn chips with pasta. Noodles, preferably spaghetti, is a requirement for many chili lovers raised in this region. Petro’s has traditional and vegetarian chili and also serves hot dogs, baked potatoes and nachos. Diners can eat inside or on the patio or use the drive-thru.

Our first Petro’s opened in August at Tates Creek Centre in south Lexington. This vibrant area has much to offer for those looking to move to Lexington, or just across town. Homes for sale near Petro’s range from an $83,000 condo to a $174,000 four bedroom Colonial.
