Here's The Scoop on Sav's Chill in Lexington KY

This great weather is perfect for taking a stroll downtown. If you would like an ice cream cone while you are walking around, be sure to stop by Sav’s Chill in Lexington Ky. Open seven days a week, this locally-owned business makes their delicious treats in-house.

Creative favorites include Bourbon Ball, Spanish Peanut Butter & Chocolate, and Hot Banana Ice Cream, which is made with habanero hot pepper sauce. Sav’s Chill serves both homemade ice cream and gelato. The gelato is so rich and creamy that it is well deserving of the word “gourmet” in its description.

The store’s official hours are from noon to 9pm every day. Customers with late-night cravings may be happily surprised to find them open much later on the weekends. If the name seems familiar to Lexingtonians, it is because it resembles the name of the popular African restaurant Sav’s Grill. The ice cream store is owned by the same family and is diagonally opposite the restaurant, at Limestone and Maxwell Streets.

If you have been dreaming about living downtown, this is an ideal area with so much to do within easy walking distance. Residents in nearby neighborhoods can walk to bars, restaurants and nightlife, as well as the University of Kentucky campus. Two hospitals are a few paces away, making this a very popular spot for medical employees as well. Office workers can also enjoy just a short stroll to downtown high-rises, the courthouse, and government buildings.
