Georgetown KY is a great place to live!

Georgetown Ky is hot right now! This Scott County town of about 30,000 is attracting a steady stream of new residents. Currently the population for the county is about 50,000 which shows huge growth from the year 2000 when it was just 33,000. Fayette County, by comparison has about 308,000 residents. Scott County is actually the fastest growing county in all of Kentucky, with Georgetown serving as the county seat.

The county is growing so fast that a new high school was recently announced. The $15.5 million project will serve 700 students and open in 2017. The rapid growth of the area is attributed to the Toyota Manufacturing Plant and supporting manufacturing industries in Georgetown. Toyota recently announced they will start building Lexus at the facility, along with the Camry and Avalon models.

One of the best benefits of living in Georgetown is that you’ll enjoy a location that’s incredibly convenient. Lexington, in Fayette County, is just 20 minutes away, as is the state capital of Frankfort. Both interstates of I-64 and I-75 are easy to access from Georgetown so residents can get to Cincinnati or Louisville in under an hour. Business travelers who log a lot of airplane time find Georgetown to be the sweet spot between the trifecta of the Louisville, Cincinnati, and Lexington airports.
