From Kim Soper's notebook, the Monday Master Real Estate Tips Installment #4
Happy Monday & Welcome! It's Monday so let's get right to the point, my 2 tips for the week:
1. When renting, you have limited power and sometimes a renter is not allowed to decorate or modify a rental the way one would like if it was your very own home. Those limitations are one of the reasons people start their home search. When you are an owner, you do not have to get permission to decorate, make improvement and change the home that fits your needs and lifestyle. When you feel like you want freedom, maybe you should look for a home to purchase.
2. Sometimes buyers go from having an apartment and thinking they want to purchase a home but prefer a townhouse or condo. Maybe they are not ready for a yard. Keep in mind, these townhouse/condos usually come with maintenance fees that are mandatory. And even if you do have those fees that have to be paid, there still may be some maintenance and care that is required by the owner. Once you purchase a place that has mandatory fees, that means you must pay those and there is a chance those fees will rise over the years. It may be more cost efficient to find a property with a smaller yard, etc. than pay those maintenance fees.
And that is a wrap for this week. Check back every Monday morning for more valuable tips to aid you. If you have any questions or would like more information, call or email me anytime for a one-on-one consultation.
