Buy the Cheapest HVAC Filter and Change It Monthly

Just a quick reminder, don't forget to change your HVAC filter. The beginning of the month is always a great way to remind yourself. Some people like to write the date of change on their calenders or keep the date in their smart phone calender, but I'm old school and just simply write the date of installation on my filter so I know when to change it. Changing your filter every 3 months is a good recommendation. If you have allergies or live in an area where new construction is occurring, it is good to change your filter every month due to all those extra dust particles floating around.

I've always found it interesting that HVAC experts say to buy the cheapest filter. Don't spend your money on those thicker, more expensive filters. Experts say those are harder on the HVAC system - it takes more work for the system to push air through. Good to know the cheapest filters are the way to go!
